The production of titanium dioxide and mineral fertilizers refers to the energy-and material-intensive types of production. The share of energy products in the production cost of main products comes up to 45%. Herewith on the energy market there is a steady rise of the cost of electricity and gas, and according to experts’ estimates this trend will continue. Therefore, the key condition of maintaining the competitive advantage of the products made by the company is the increasing of energy efficiency of production. Since 2004 Crimea Titan PJSC is introducing new technology and modernization of equipment to reduce costs while in-parallel improving the quality of the product.
Energy efficiency projects.
A. The construction of 6 MW steam turbine.
In 2004 the turbine plant was installed and put into operation, this turbine converts the energy of superheated steam into the power 6MW/h. Today the company produces its own power that meets a significant part of production requirements (up to 25%, this is about 40-45 mln. kWh per year).
B. The reconstruction of a gas compression shop.
At the end of 2005 a new gas compression shop was put into operation that provides power saving when compared to the old shop up to 17 mln. kWh per year, thereby the specific energy consumption for compressed air production has become a third less. |
